In this post, I’ll explain why FOCALLURE DUO LIP&CHEEK was my favourite product for the past year!

My sister bought me this product from the Focallure brand titled FOCALLURE DUO LIP&CHEEK, when I asked her for pink lipstick, at first I didn’t like the idea of lipstick in a Jar, but after using it I eventually changed my mind, It gave me a silky velvet, yet moist and soft feeling when I put it on my lips or cheeks, this duo comes in lots of shades that suit most skin tunes. The packaging is unique but comes with a few problems.

Packaging:

The packaging of Focallure Duo is pretty unique, I have not seen any makeup product like it before, It is a rectangular jar with a circular lid, They have put the product in a jar because it is very lightweight and creamy, Which can`t hold itself as a stick, and since I am a fan of lightweight lipstick, I`d say “even better!”. Also, the jar makes it, pretty easy to diffuse the product onto a brush if you are a fan of that. The jar contains 5g of product.

Features:

These are most obvious worthy features that observed from Focallure Duo:

  • Texture: It is creamy, non-sticky and most importantly lightweight without annoying my skin.
  • Finish: The finish is velvet for sure, clay like, matte without gloss, but not dry. love it!
  • Pigmentaion: rich but really depends on how much you put on, only a small pinch can take you a long way.
  • Longivety: hmm, I’d say probably what I only didnt like about it, is that it smudges around if not careful and wears off.
  • Blending: It is very creamy, so pretty easy to blend and spread around.

Ingredients:

These are the most focallure duo prominent ingredients for chemistry junkies

CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, DIMETHICONE, TRIBEHENIN, CETYL PEG/PPG-10/1 DIMETHICONE, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, POLYGLYCERYL-2 TRIISOSTEARATE, SORBITAN ISOSTEARATE, PROPYLPARABEN, BHT, AROMA, MAY CONTAIN: CI 15985, CI 77491, CI 77499, CI 15850, CI 77891, CI 19140, CI 77492.

Application:

The application of Focallure Duo really depends on your preference, and I’ll explain how

Lips: To achieve gorgeous, soft-focus, angelic lips, delicately dab the lipstick onto your inner lips using the tip of your fingers and blend it outwards. You can layer the lipstick for more intensity. For a glossy, moist look, you can apply some lip balm on top. But If you prefer a more sharp elegant look, use a thin brush to outline the outer lip line precisely and then fill in the inner lips with the tip of your fingers. I use it for both looks, depending on my style.

Cheeks: To achieve a delicate soft pink halo, Dab a small amount onto the apples of your cheeks using your fingertips or a blush brush. Blend it out in circular motions for a natural flush. Since it has a lightweight texture, it makes it easy to blend without leaving a sticky feel. You can build up the color for a more dramatic intense look. Add up some loose powder for more longevity.

Claims Vs Results

I’d say, The Focallure Duo is honest about everything it claims about, except for one thing. I mean, It is creamy, it is velvet, it is moist but yet the longevity is low if not careful, but that is not a problem for me because I like re-applying lipstick.

Final Feels

Even though I am not a fan of jar lipsticks, even more so if they are multi-products, I am pretty happy that my sister bought me this when I asked her to get me a subtle cold pinkish colour lipstick. Especially since I can toss it in my makeup bag and take it with me whenever I need a quick makeup look and I want to touch it up throughout the day. The finish feels good, creamy, blendable and soft, so I find it a great product for everyday makeup looks. I actually like it more than Focallure Matte Lip Clay.
